Harold Allen ("Punk") Nelson, 89, Greencastle, died Tuesday afternoon at Heritage House Convalescent Center.

Born May 6, 1906 in Putnam County, he was the son of David Oscar and Edna Pearl (Harlan) Nelson.  

He was never married and resided with his sister, Ruth Goodman.

Mr. Nelson was a crane operator for 30 years at R. L. Schulz, Indianapolis, and later worked for Goodman's Texaco in Greencastle until it closed.

He was a member of Operator's Union 841, Terre Haute.

Survivors include three brothers, Louis Nelson and wife Eunice, Greencastle, Harlan Nelson and wife Ruth, Brazil, and Francis ("Buster") Nelson and wife Ann, Ranger, Ga.; two sisters, Dorothy Littrell and husband Luther, Greencastle, and Ruth Goodman, Greencastle; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Saturday from Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Rev. David Mohler will officiate.

Friends may call 4-8 p. m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Little Walnut Cemetery.
