NEESE, Everett

Source: Danville (Indiana) Republican Jan 18, 1923 p 6 – thanks to Jan Fay for this one (FindAGrave)

Everett Neese, son of John and Ellen Neese was born in Putnam County June 24, 1862 and departed this life at his home in Amo Jan 14, 1923 at the age of 60 years 6 months and 20 days.  He leaves to mourn a wife and four daughters, two brothers and one sister, besides other relatives and friends.  Two daughter and the only son preceded him to the better land.  Everett Neese was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and also of the order of Masons but has not been permitted to attend their meetings for several years on account of ill health. Although a sufferer for many years, his last sickness was of 10 weeks’ duration.  On Sunday afternoon Jan 14, surrounded by his faithful wife and daughters, he quietly fell asleep.  He made most of the arrangements for burial several days before his death.  He was a quiet and unassuming man who lived for his family and was honest and upright, a good husband, neighbor and friend.  It is hard to give father up, yet his sufferings are over and while we miss him, we look through our tears and see him at rest.  Funeral services were at the Amo ME Church conducted by Rev. LD Dodd of Greencastle, assisted by Rev. Mahaffie of Coatesville Jan 16.  Burial in Amo Cemetery. - kbz
