Floyd Twp – On the first day of April, at 2:20 p.m. little Charlie, son of EV and SC McVay aged 2 years after a protracted sickness of 9 days was called from t his world of sorrow to that peaceful home beyond the skies. We have the consoling thought that he is now resting safely in the world of sorrow to that peaceful home beyond the skies. We have the consoling thought that he is now resting safely in the arms of the Blessed Savior who commanded, “Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Groveland news – died on April 1st, Charles Sherman McVay son of EV McVay, aged about two years. An appropriate funeral sermon was preached on the 2d at Clear Creek Church by Rev. Vandyne, pastor of the CP Church and immediately after the remains of little Charlie were interred in Clar Creek Cemetery. He was a bright and promising little child – mahap a kind heaven thought too much so to longer remain in this world of sin and sorrow and thus early transplanted him to fairer regions beyond the dark river. His little brother and sister will miss little Charlie’s innocent prattle and winsome ways in their childish games and sports. His fond parents will listen in vain for the patter of his childish feet and long for his infant caresses. But their sorrow in his loss is not that without a hope, for he is only gone before “Little hands so meekly folded Over Charlie’s pulseless breast; Little heart that loved so fondly Beats no more – he is at rest.” Mr. McVay and lady tender their sincere thanks to the kind friends and neighbors who labored with them thro’ the illness of their little son and also the attending physician, Dr. GW Farver of Groveland for his close and skillful attention.
