Obituary of Harriet [GIFFORD] MCNARY
Mrs. Wm McNary died Thursday morning at her home five miles east of the city. She had an ovarian tumor, weighing seventy-one pounds, removed about eight years since. She has had gradually coming on for over a year, symptoms of obstruction of the bowels as a result of adhesions from a rupture. The bowels had been completely obstructed for several days and had become gangrenous. An operation was performed Wednesday for her relief and about four inches of the intestine was removed. The other ovary had become diseased and was also removed at the same operation, which was a very difficult and dangerous one, but was successfully performed, but owing to her weakened condition, having been unable to take any nourishment for several days, she could not rally from the shock. Mrs. McNary was born in this county forty nine years ago. The funeral will be held Sunday.
