Roachdale – William N. McMullen, 70, a resident of this community the last 41 years and for more than 15 years a member of the county’s agricultural stabilization committee died at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday in Putnam County Hospital at Greencastle. He had been in ill health the past year. Born in Montgomery County on March 8, 1897, he was a son of Joseph E. and Lucinda E. Graybill McMullen. He was married at Crawfordsville on Feb 22, 1922 to Florence Eleanor Miller, who survives.
Mr. McMullen was a member of the Roachdale Presbyterian Church. He sold seed corn for Funk Bros. and Migro Seed Co.
Surviving besides the widow are two children, Howard of Ladoga and Mrs. Helena M. Wilkins of Indianapolis; two grandsons and a granddaughter, Larry Joe, Kenneth Lee and Carme Kay McMullen; a brother, Everett of Darlington and three nieces and two nephews. A granddaughter, Jana Susanne Wilkins is deceased.
Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Presbyterian Church here with the pastor, Rev. Homer Cochran, officiating and burial in Roachdale Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church an hour prior to the services. Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the Perkins Funeral Home here --- kbz
