McMAINS, Mary O`Connor

A sudden attack of heart disease caused the death of Mrs. Mary O’Connor McMains of Cloverdale mother of Mrs. BF Handy of this city in the Putnam County hospital Tuesday night about 7:30 o’clock. Mrs. McMains entered the hospital 8 days ago for rest and medical treatment as she has been suffering severe attacks for the past month although her condition was not considered serious when she entered the hospital. Mrs. McMains was 66 years of age and the widow of the late William Handy of Cloverdale, who death occurred 9 years ago. She has always resided in Cloverdale and vicinity. Besides the daughter Mrs. Handy she is survived by five other daughters, Mrs. Ira Knoll of Cloverdale. Mrs. Grace Routt, residing south of Cloverdale, Mrs. George Knoll, Almyra Arkansas; Mrs. Etta Hughes, Indianapolis and Mrs. Ina Sinclair of Pasadena, California. A sister, Mrs. John Smith of Cloverdale and two brothers J. O’Connor and B. O’Connor residing near Cataract also survive. Funeral arrangements have not been completed pending word from the daughter residing in Arkansas. --- transcribed by kbz
