McMAHAN, Rosa Faller - Putnam

Last rites for Mrs. Rosa McMahan, a former resident of this place died at her home in Greencastle Friday eveing of last week, were held at the Chastain funeral home Sunday afternoon. Mrs. McMahana and her husband W. S. McMahan who died in 1937, operated teh hotel here for many years and after moving to Greencastle they operated a rooming house there. Mrs. McMahan was born just north of here June 9, 1866, the daughter of Wilhelm and Susan Schmidt Faller. She spent much of her life in this community where she was well known. Surviving are two daughters; Ruth McMahan and Mrs. Curtis Hudgins both of Greencastle and four brothers Otto, Leo, and George faller of this place and Ed Faller of Greencastle. Burial was made in Roachdale cemetery   --- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker who so graciously donated her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated!!
