Ladoga, Ind Feb 5 – The funeral party accompanying the remains of TJ McGinnis, a former Cloverdale man from Houston, Tex to Ladoga was in a wreck on the Monon Sunday morning which occurred at 73rd street in Chicago. Fortunately none of the part received any serious injury.  The wreck was caused by a broken rail and all the cars except the baggage car and the rear sleeper were derailed and piled in a heap.  Owing to the fact that the train was moving slowly at the time no one was killed.  Several were severely injured and the members of the McGinnis funeral party were pretty badly shaken up but experienced no other injury.  The baggage car in which the body of Mr. McGinnis was being transported did not leave the track.  The members of the funeral party were delayed for several hours by the wreck as it happened some time Sunday morning shortly after midnight.  The train was due to arrive in Ladoga about 8 Sunday morning and did not arrive there until half-past four in the afternoon.  The funeral of Mr. McGinnis was held this afternoon at 2 from the late residence in this place and was conducted by Rev WH Newlin, pastor of the Christian Church of this place.  The interment took place in the Ladoga Cemetery.  Mr. McGinnis was in the clothing business in Ladoga from 1882-1898 at which time he retired.   ---transcribed by kbz
