McGAUGHEY, Arthur M. - Putnam

Arthur M. McGAUGHEY, prominent attorney of Crawfordsville died at his home, Wed. morning of last week following a year’s failing health. Mr. McGaughey was 73 and was born in Putnam County. He graduated from Waveland HS and Indiana University law school. At IU he was an outstanding football and baseball player. He began the practice of law in Crawfordsville in 1910 being associated with “several partners, the current ones begin his son, Warren A. and Frank Howard, Jr. ” On Sept 24, 1913, he was married to Miss Ethel VanCLEAVE, daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. EL VanCleave of Rockville. She graduated from RHS in 1905. Survivors include the widow; 3 sons, 3 grandsons and two granddaughters. Funeral services were held Friday and burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Crawfordsville.
