Norton – Lucy E. McCreary, 100, Norton died Monday Oct 7. 1991 at the Andbe Home, Norton. Mrs. McCreary was born Lucy E. Byrd on Feb 11, 1891 in Indiana. In 1923, she and her husband moved to Norton and opened a bakery. She also lived in Missouri and Colorado, where she operated a dress shop in Denver. She had lived in Norton since 1959. She was a member of the First united Methodist Church of Norton, the Embroidery Club and the Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past worthy matron. Her husband, Earl J died in 1959. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Frederick and Walter, a grandson and a great grandson. Survivors include five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Enfield Funeral Home, Norton, Rev. Jack Kersenbrock officiating. Burial will be in the Norton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or Andbe Home.
