Colfax, Ind March 2 – (note her
tombstone says she died March 3 but this Monday’s newspaper would indicat her
death on the 1st) – Mrs. James McCoy, 79, died of cancer at 10 o’clock Saturday
morning at her home in Colfax. Her husband expired three weeks ago. She was a
daughter of William and Eliza Kensler, born in Putnam County, Indiana. The
family had been residents of this place for the past 30 years. Mrs. McCoy was a
member of the United Brethren Church. Surviving are a son, William McCoy of
Colfax and brother, James Kensler of Thorntown, Ind. Funeral services will be
held from the Christian Church at 2 p.m. Monday Rev. Wiggins, officiating.
Interment will be made in Plain View Cemetery.
Note: Her husband was James McCoy born 21 Aug 1850 Jefferson County,
Indiana died 9 Feb 1930 Colfax, Clinton County. - kbz
