The following is from the Indianapolis News in regard to the death of Mrs. Mary L. McCammack formerly Miss Mary Allee of Belle Union. Mrs. Mary L. McCammack, 47 years old, committed suicide last night at her home, 222 West New York Street by taking carbolic acid. The woman was found unconscious by her husband, Hiram M. McCammack when he returned home from work. The dispensary ambulance was called but the woman died a few minutes after she had been received at the city hospital. The husband said there was no one in the house at the time the poison was taken. Bicyclemen Irick and Fletcher investigated the case and could learn of no motive for the suicide. The husband denied that he and his wife had had trouble. He said that she had just returned from a visit with relatives in Putnam County and seemed to be in the best of spirits.” Mrs. McCammack was a daughter of the late Robert Allee of Belle Union. The remains were taken to Belle Union Friday for burial. - kbz
