Martinsville, Ind Sept 21 – James H. McCammack, age 91, Centerton civil war veteran died Friday afternoon at the Veterans Hospital in Springfield, Ill where he had intended to attend the annual GAR encampment.  Mr. McCammack, the last surviving member of Co G 43d infantry was a guard for the Lincoln funeral cortege through Indiana. Born in Putnam County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCammack, Mr. McCammack came to Morgan County in 1898 where he remained except for a few years spent in Brownstown, Ill.   Survivors are the widow and five children.  He was a member of the Walnut Chapel in Putnam County.  Services will be held there Monday afternoon.  Mr. McCammack’s death leaves George Nelson of Mooresville as the county’s only surviving civil war veteran.
