Saturday, May 11, 1895

Mrs. Sarah T. Myers died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. King (sic) on North Jackson Street. Mrs. Myers was one of the oldest people in Putnam County being in her 84th year. She moved to this county when 15 years of age and had thus for nearly 70 years been a resident of Putnam. Her death resulted from old age and stomach trouble. The funeral will occur at 1:30 tomorrow with the interment at Brick Chapel.

Mrs. Sarah T. Myers died May 10, 1895 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Kean on North Jackson Street. Mrs. Myers was one of the oldest ladies of Putnam County being 83 years, 4 months and 11 days old. She was born in Montgomery Co., KY near Mt. Sterling, December 1811 and lived there until she with her parents moved to Putnam County, Indiana. Soon after she came to this state she joined church at Brick Chapel and lived a devoted Christian the remainder of her days. She was married to Noble J. Myers Feb. 1837 and they lived happily together until April 1851 when death entered their home and took her dear companion from her since which time she has made her home with her children until she departed this life. Mrs. Myers was the mother of seven children, three of whom survive her, Eliza A. Kean, Martha E. Fuqua and Cynthia J. Reed.  - thanks to Phoebe B :)
