MODDRELL, Margaret - Putnam

Mrs. Margaret Moddrell, 101 years old of Eminence, died Sunday at her home there. She had celebrated her birthday on Feb 24.  Death was caused by senile exhaustion, aggravated by an injury suffered in a fall two weeks ago.  Mrs. Moddrell had attributed her long life to moderation, activity and plenty of substantial food.  She was born in Virginia, coming to Owen County, Indiana with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Snodgrass in a covered wagon when she was 6 years old. Later the family moved to Putnam County.  In 1850 she married Andrew J. Moddtell and 15 years later moved to Eminence where she has lived since. Mr. Moddrell died in 1905.  Survivors are three children, Mrs. TS Arad and Miss Ellen Moddrell of Eminence and a son in Texas.
