MITCHELL, Mary - Putnam

Mrs. Mary M. Mitchell, 92, of Bainbridge, died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday at Memorial Hospital following a stroke suffered during a birthday party given in her honor by a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Etnire, 1616 North Street. Mrs. Mitchell was stricken Thursday and taken immediately to Memorial Hospital. Born June 29, 1869, in Hamilton County, she was the daughter of John N. and Mary M. Ingerman Applegate. Her husband, Charles E. Mitchell, died Oct 29, 1949. In addition to Mrs. Etnire, survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Mabel Araujo, San Paulo, Brazil, three sons, Arthur D, LaGrange, Ill; Donald F, Silver Springs, Md and J. Joseph, Villa Park, Ill; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Two daughters, Nellie and Margaret preceded her in death. She was a member of the Bainbridge Methodist Church. Final rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the McCloskey-Hamilton-Kahle Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Davis, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Zimmer cemetery, Hamilton County where graveside rites will be said at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. - kbz
