Mrs. Mary Miller died last Saturday morning at 9 oclock of heart disease. She had long been an invalid but feeling unusually well she had been assisting her daughters in the household duties for a few days. About 8 o’Clock when she went alone into a room to arrange a bureau preparatory to shipping as the family expected to remove to Anderson, their former home in a short time. A few moments later a little daughter entered the room and found her mother dead. Her husband, who was in the employ of Stephen Vancleave, had gone to the country that morning and was in ignorance of the sad occurrence until found by a messenger. Miss Bertie was also away from home, having left for Ohio on a visit only a few hour pervious. Little did she think when she bade her mother farewell that her visit would be so sadly terminated by the woeful message received by her as she was changing cars in Ohio. Accompanied by her brother, Mr. Charles Miller, an express messenger, she returned to this city Saturday night. The funeral services occurred at the family residence on North College Avenue, Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Dr. Parkhurst officiating. The remains were taken to Anderson, Ind for interment. The afflicated family have resided in this community but a few months yet during this short period they have made many friends by their unselfish and sociable disposition and all these united in expressing their sincerest sympathy for the bereaved. - kbz
