The son of Harvey and Mary Perkins Miller, was born June 2, 1854 on a farm one mile east of Roachdale. He died December 25, 1933, age 79 years 6month and 23 days. He was the last of six children. On September 3, 1874, he married Sarah Catherine Gregory. Three children were born to this union: Bertha, Carl, and Frank. Carl died March 1910, Frank died February 1919, and Mrs. Miller died December 5, 1930. Survived by the daughter, Mrs. Lete Rogers of Roachdale, three grandsons, Clifford, Benjamin and Robert. Three Granddaughters, Kathryn Miller, Greencastle, Mary Rogers and Mrs. Nina Cox of Pattersonville, New York, two Great grandchildren, Mac and Mary Cox. In early life he united with the Bethel Christain church and when that congregation disbanded he transferred his membership to the Roachdale Christian church, of which he was a faithful member the remainder of his life. He had been in impaired health for sometime but on December 10, he suffered a stroke of paralysis and died Christmas day, 1933 having lived 79 years, 6 months and 23 days. He was the last of a family of six children and is survived by the daughter, Mrs. Let Rogers and the son-in-law, living near Roachdale; the daughters-in-law, Mrs. Bertha Miller of Greencastle, and Mrs. Floss Miller, of Crawfordsville; three grandsons; Clifford, Benjamin and Robert, three granddaughters; Kathryn Miller of Greencastle, Mary Rogers and Mrs. Nina Cox of Pattersonville, New York. --- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker for sharing her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated.
