Winslow – Funeral services will be held at Scott & McMillan Chapel, Winslow, Saturday at 2 o’clock for Henry R. Mercer, 73 who died early Wednesday at Winslow Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Olin E. Lehman will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted by the Masonic Lodge and military honors will be given by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are Mr. Mercer’s wife, Burdette Bebe of Winslow and a brother, James Arthur of Indianapolis, Ind. Mr. Mercer came to Winslow in 1910 as a brakeman for the Santa Fe and retired in 1954 as a conductor. He was a member of the ORC and VFW and F&AM No 13 and Tuscson Consistory No 1. Friends may call at Scott & McMillan Chapel from 7-9 p.m. Friday. Interment will be at Desert View Cemetery.
Note: Henry Raymond Mercer was born 4 Feb 1884 in Putnam County to Lewis Marion and Frances Hutcheson Mercer.
