MATSON, Mary - Putnam

The death of Mrs. Mary Matson occurred Monday at 8 o’clock a.m. at her residence corner of Water and Seminary streets.  Mrs. Matson last winter suffered a stroke of paralysis which greatly weakened her and upon last winter suffered a stroke of paralysis which greatly weakened her and upon last Friday the Banner Times chronicled a sad accident which befell her, in which her hip was broken. At her advanced age and in her enfeebled condition she was unable to survive her injury.  Mrs. Matson was in her 73rd year and was the relict of Col. John A. Matson and was the stepmother of Col. CC Matson.  Her only son was Oliver Matson who died several years ago.- kbz
