The murdered remains of CA Matkin were found in his home on South Emporia Avenue (Wichita, Kansas) this morning by neighbors, whose suspicions had been aroused by the absence of Matkin from his usual haunts. The body lay on the floor beside a bed, dressed only in underclothes. Severe contusion son the head showed that Matkin was the victim of foul play. The officers say that he was sandbagged and froze to death while unconscious. The dead man was last seen alive on Friday evening. He had some money about him but none could be discovered today. Matkin was at one time quite prominent here in business circles. He was wealthy and platted several additioins to the city but of late he has had reverses in business. - kbz
