MANN, Merle Franklin - Putnam

Ill since 1985, Merle Franklin Mann 82, Mooresville died this morning Feb 23, 1990 at his residence.  He had lived in Mooresville most of his life. Born Oct 1, 1907 in Carpentersville he was the son of Leotus and Blanche McCloud Mann.  On Oct 5, 1928, he married Helan A. Sawyers who survives.  Mr. Mann had been employed as a box maker for Bridgeport Brass Co in Indianapolis and was retired.  He was a member of the New Life Tabernacle in Indianapolis. Surviving besides the widow are a son, Merle Franklin Mann, Jr, Mooresville; two daughters, Dorothy Jean Rike,, Brooklyn and Vivian LaVerne Smoot, Mooresville; a sister, Ruby Palmer, Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.  A son, Clifford Sawyers Mann preceded him in death. The Rev. Jon Eakle will conduct the 2 p.m. Sunday funeral at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel in Mooresville.  Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery at Waverly.  Friends may call 2-9 p.m. Saturday. – kbz
