MAGILL, Catherine - Putnam

Mrs. Catherine Magill, one of Greencastle’s oldest citizens, died Friday evening at 6 o’clock at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Claude Black at Warren.  She was 85 years of age.  Death was caused by infirmities of advanced age.  Since the death of her husband, John Magill who died in 1924 she has made her home with her only daughter, Mrs. James I. Nelson in Norwood and with her granddaughter at Warren.  Mrs. Magill has been a resident of this county most of her life and resided in Clinton Township near Morton for many years.  The body will be brought here Sunday evening and taken to the Rector Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Rector Funeral Home with interment in Brick Chapel. ~~~transcribed by kbz

Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Magill, aged Greencastle resident and mother of Mrs. James I. Nelson, Northwood were held this afternoon at the Rector Funeral Home.  Interment was in Brick Chapel cemetery.  Mrs. Magill died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Claude Black at Warren Friday evening.  Among those who were here from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. William E. Ratcliff of Indianapolis; Raymond Nicholson of St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Elbert Baker, Decatur, Ill; Dr. and Mrs. Claud Black and daughter Susanne and Miss Louise Barnes of Warren.
