LESLEY, Joseph - War of 1812 - Putnam

Joseph Lesley – In Jackson Township February 29th of old age, Joseph Lesley, age ninety years. Mr. Lesley moved from Kentucky, and bought his land for the Government about 40 years ago. He was a worthy member of the M.E. [Methodist Evangelical] Church for over 50 years and served his brethren as a class leader. In his early days he was a solder in the War of 1812 and was loyal in the late struggles. – thanks from Susan L
