LEMMICK, John W. - Putnam

J. W. Lemmick, 83, died Sunday evening. He was a member of the once famous, Red Stockings of Cincinnati in the 80's and played short stop. He with the team, traveled to St. Louis in the 80's on the first passenger train that ran west from Indianapolis over the Big 4 Railroad. The widow survived, together with 5 children; W.T. Lemmick and Mrs.Sellers of Indianapolis; Mrs. Thomas Henry, Bridgeport, Lawrence and Charles Lemmick of Greencastle; three sisters and 17 grandchildren also survive.
