LAYTON, William - Putnam

Frank McQueen, alias Mock Price was indicted on a charge of first degree murder by the Marion County grand jury in its first partial report to Judge Frank P. Baker in Criminal court yesterday.  McQueen is charged with shooting fatally William Layton May 2, 1931.  He had been sought since the slaying which took place during a holdup, Thomas McCubbins, an alleged accomplice is serving a 15-year sentence in the Indiana State Reformatory for auto banditry.  Layton formerly was a Greencastle barber and has a brother and other relatives in this county. - transcribed by kbz
