RUSSELLVILLE —Esther Lawter, 84, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the family home after a long illness. Born in Russell Township on Jan. 11, 1885, she was a daughter of George and Nellie Potter. Her entire life was spent in the Morton and Russellville communities. Her husband, Surveyor Lawter, died in 1959. Mrs. Lawter was a member of Union Chapel Church and OES at Morton. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frieda Nicholson of near Morton; a son, Ralph of Russellville; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Grace Maddox of Evansville, Mrs. Gladys Spencer of Russellville and Mrs. Devoto Berry of Crawfordsville, and a brother, Ray Potter of Los Angeles. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Union Chapel Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. J. J. Saalwachter will officiate. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday. At 9 p.m. Tuesday the OES will conduct rites at the funeral home. --waw
