Sally A. Lasley the subject of this sketch
was born in Kentucky, January 29, 1816. She come to this state with her parents
when a child. At the age of nine years she confessed faith in her loving Savior
and has ever since been true and loyal to that faith. In her last illness which
was about two weeks duration, she said she was ready and willing to go when her
Master called, but she did not want to become impatient, and' her prayer was
that she might be patient until life ended here below. She said “Oh, what a
happy meeting that will be when I shall meet father, mother, brothers and
sisters who have gone on before.” She gave about seventy-four years of her life
to serving the Lord and Master, and her sojourn here below in one worthy of
imitation, it being made up of those Christian graces that go to make up the
true Christian character. She departed this life December the 16th, 1898. She
leaves one sister, Demise Weller, one brother, Joseph D Lasley, and many other
distant relatives. She is the last of the four maiden sisters that lived
together. So long caring for father and mother and each other in there many
weeks of sickness and death. She will be sadly missed by those who lived in her
company daily. But alas she is no more and may the life she lived be an
inspiration to us all to live the Christ life till the summons comes. It is
finished. "Enter thou into the joys of thy Lord." D. I. L.
