Veedersburg – Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lang, Veedersburg, Rt 1, have received word from the Department of Defense that their son, Pfc. Robert David Lang, 20, was killed in Korea action last Saturday.  Pfc. Lang had been in Korea with the Marines for two months.  He was wounded recently and the little finger on his right hand was shot off. In a letter written Nov 17 and received by his parents Tuesday, Lang wrote that he had returned to front line duty after recovering from the wound.  Born at Roachdale, he lived in Veedersburg vicinity since he was a small child.  He attended Veedersburg HS and was farming before entering the service.  After taking basic training in California, he left the US for Korea Sept 15.  Surviving besides the parents are three brothers, Pfc. Charles Lang, serving in the Army in Germany and Arthur and Donald, at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Briles of Fowler, and Betty Lou, at home.  - kbz
