LANE, Michael - Putnam

The death of Michael Lane occurred at 10:30 o’clock last night at the residence of his son TP Lane, 1108 (smudged badly) North Sixth Street. The deceased was 73 years old and his death was caused by lung trouble. He was born in Ireland but had resided the greater portion of his life in Greencastle, where the remains will be shipped for interment – Lafayette Courier.

Mr. Lane was a resident of Bainbridge for many years and was a pleasant and agreeable gentleman. He was an upright citizen and had many friends in this his home county.

The body of Michael Lane was brought here Monday from Lafayette for interment here the next morning. The remains were taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. Michael Nalen of North Greencastle but the funeral was from the Catholic Church.  He was the father of John Lane who is in Ohio; Timothy Lane of Lafayette; of Miss Nora Lane in the employ of the Chicago division of the Big Four as operator and of Mrs. Charles Ford who lives at Limedale.

Bainbridge news item - Uncle Mike Lane, an old citizen here died at his son Tim’s house in Lafayette Sunday Jan 11 and was buried in Greencastle the 13th, cause pneumonia.
