Artemus E. Lambert, son of Aaron L. and Tabitha Brown Lambert, was born near Hall. Ind„ Dec. 2, 1861 and departed this life Nov. 29. 1946 age 84 years, 11 months and 27 days. He was of a family of seven children all of whom have preceded him in death, except one brother Thomas H. Lambert, of Rose Hill Illinois. Jan 16, 1886 he was united in marriage to Margarette Clark. To this union was born a son, Benjamin who was called home Sept 5, 1903. The wife and mother passed to the beyond Dec 28, 1923. On Sept 4, 1926 he was again married to Josephine Downey who survives. His work on earth is done but his jovial disposition and neighborly kindness remains a priceless heritage to those who knew him best. He leaves to mourn their loss the aged companion, one brother; a grandson, Kenneth Lambert of Detroit, Michigan; one great grandson, William Lambert now in the armed forces, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Unith Monday and other relatives and friends. Call not back the dear departed. Anchored safe where storms are o’er. On the border land we left them, Soon we’ll meet to part no more. When we leave this world of changes When we leave this world of care, We shall meet our missing loved ones in our Father’s mansion fair!
