William A. Kreigh passed away at the Putnam County hospital at 11:58 o’clock Friday night, after an acute illness of only a few days. He had been at the hospital for the past month but until a few days ago, had been in his usual health. He had been failing for the past few years, but his critical illness lasted only a few days. Funeral services will be held at the Rector funeral home Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. CM McClure, pastor of the Gobin Memorial Church in this city.  Burial will be at Stilesville. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time prior to the services.  Mr. Kreigh had lived in Greencastle since 1900, at which time he removed from near Stilesville, establishing his residence at 902 South Indiana street and becoming one of the best known of the city’s and county’s citizens. He was in the livery business here and bought and sold livestock.  He was born on a farm just north of Stilesvlle, the son of George and Zerelda Gabbert Kreigh. George Kreigh was also a shipper of livestock. W.A. Kreigh having in his possession sales records kept by his father indicating the latter’s livestock deals annually ran into many thousands of dollars. Mr. Kreigh was a director of the First-Citizens Bank of Greencastle. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and took an active interest in all its activities. He was the father of two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Cowan of Cedar Grove, Iowa, and Mrs. WJ Ryan of San Francisco, Calif. The former was with her father at his death, and the latter will arrive Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Kreigh also survives. One sister, Mrs. Robert Pounds, now resides on the old home place near Stilesville. - kbz
