Death has visited our neighborhood and taken from us one of our beloved friends and neighbors, Mrs. Elizabeth King. She was born May 13, 1839, in Clinton township [Putnam County, Indiana]; died March 30, 1895, near Brunerstown, in Madison township [Putnam County, Indiana}, aged 55 years, 8 months and 16 [17] days. She was married to David King, Mar. 12, 1858 [1857], and they lived together kindly and devotedly until she was called to rest; to them were born four children — three sons and one daughter; the daughter died in infancy, and she leaves the husband and three sons - William, Zed and Riley, a daughter-in-law, four sisters and three brothers to mourn her loss. The brothers and sisters are Emeline Louis [Lewis] of Iowa; Rachel Hall of Missouri; Eliza Grubb of Kansas; James Goodwin of Iowa; Zed Goodwin of Nebraska; and Michael Goodwin of Iowa. She was a faithful member of the Christian Church at Long Branch, and will be missed in the church, the home, and by her friends... – kbz
