KING, Bertha King - Putnam

Bertha L. King, 90, Quincy, died from natural causes Feb 1, 2000 at the Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle. Born March 30, 1909 in Berea County, Kentucky she was the daughter of Felix and Lottie Bell (Strong) King. She married Harrison Harless Sept 18, 1924. He died Dec 15, 1957. On Feb 7, 1959 she married Van King who died Oct 6, 1967.  Mrs. King was a homemaker and member of the Quincy Baptist Church.  Survivors include a stepmother, Allie King of Lee County, Virginia; two stepdaughters, Edith Snowden of Lee County, Virginia and Hazel Pleasant of Martinsville; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.  The services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale. The Rev. Bill Staley will officiate. Burial will be in Mannan Cemetery in Cloverdale. Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Cloverdale. – kbz
