Lebanon, Ind. – Rites will be held here tomorrow for Stanley E. Jones, 77, mayor of Lebanon from 1938-42. Mr. Jones, a partner in the Jones & Bennigar Men’s Clothing Store died yesterday at his home in Ulen. He was a former city school board member; former president of the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce and former president of the Oak Hill Cemetery Association. He had been treasurer of the Rotary Club here for several years. Mr. Jones had been a farmer and grain elevator operator before entering the clothing business in 1924. He attended DePauw & Purdue universities and graduated from Crawfordsville Business College. Note: Born Putnam County Dec 1, 1884 son of John and Clara (Bowen) Jones.
