Mrs. Lizzie Jones, 73, well known citizens of the Veedersburg community died suddenly last Thursday evening of a heart attack after becoming ill while shopping in the downtown section. She was placed in her car by Mr. Harris Lindamood who Mrs. Jones had asked to take her home. She slumped in her car seat and died before medical care could be obtained. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. She was born in Fountain County July 10, 1882 daughter of David and Elzada Eubanks Watts. She was married to Arthur Jones and they lived in Rochdale and operated a filling station and store. Following his death, she moved back to the Veedersburg community. Mrs. Jones and her family before her had been active and prominent in affairs of the EUB Church and had contributed heavily towards its funds in colleges and missions. Surviving is an aunt, Mrs. Florence Thompson of Marshall and several cousins. Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at the EUB Church with Rev. Dean Smith and the Rev. Samuel Pritchard officiating. Burial was in Centennial Cemetery with Fishero Funeral Home in charge. Dr. I. Lynn Esch, President of Indiana Central College is executor of the will. Except for grants to a niece and nephew, her estate was given to Indiana Central. – kbz
