JOHNSTON, Charles N. - Putnam

Charles N. Johnston, 77, died Sunday afternoon at Putnam County Hospital. Funeral services were held at Chastain funeral home Tuesday afternoon, with burial in New Maysville cemetery. Mr. Johnston was born December 8, 1860 the son of Caleb and Sarah Sanders Johnston. He lived here practically his entire life in this vicinity. Survivors are daughter, Inez and a son Robert, both at home; two brothers, Mattson Johnston of near Lizton, and Robert Johnston of Marion, three sisters, Mrs. Stella DeLong, Mrs. Laura Allgood and Mrs. Della Gordon all of Indianapolis, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.   -- Thanks so much to Marilyn Walker for sharing her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated !
