Willie May Nolan Johnson, born June 7, 1889, in Montgomery Co, Kentucky. She was the child of William and Emma Nolan, she died June 15, 1934 in Long Hospital in Indianapolis. At age 12, she came to Roachdale, with her parents. On May 28, 1906, she married Charles Johnson. Seven children were born, two are deceased. William Franklin and Helena Louise died in early childhood. Surviving besides the husband; two sons; Glen Otto and Ralph; two daughters; Betty Jane and Geneva of Cunot, Indiana, and a daughter, Mrs. Wanita Shultz and a grandson Bobby Shultz of Brazil, Indiana; Two brothers, Isom of Roachdale and Robert of Winchester, Kentucky and three half brothers Richard of Indianapolis; Thomas of Parkersburg and Albert of Roachdale.   -- Thanks so much to Marilyn Walker for sharing her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated !

Mrs. Willie Mae Johnson, 45, former resident of Roachdale died at 9:56 o’clock Thursday night in Robert Long Hospital at Indianapolis.  Mrs. Johnson had been at the hospital since Tuesday, suffering from a complication of diseases.  She was born in Montgomery County, Kentucky the daughter of William and Elnora Noland.  She was married March 27, 1906 to Charles Johnson of Roachdale who survives. The family moved from Roachdale about 15 years ago and had been living southwest of Cloverdale at the time of Mrs. Johnson’s death.  She was a member of the Christian Church.  Surviving, besides the husband are three daughters: Mrs. Juanita Shultz of Brazil, and Betty Jane and Genevieve Johnson, home; two sons, Glenn Otis and Ralph Junior Johnson at home; two brothers, Isom Noland of Roachdale and Robert of Winchester, Ky; three half brothers, Albert and Thomas Noland of Roachdale and Richard of Indianapolis and a grandson, Bobby Shultz of Brazil. The body was brought to the Chastain funeral home in Roachdale, where services will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. Leland Plew of Roachdale officiating.  Burial will be at the Roachdale cemetery.    ~~~transcribed by kbz
