JOHNSON, Laura Alice - Putnam

Mrs. Laura Alice Johnson, age 74, passed away early Tuesday morning at the Rockville Sanatorium where she had been a patient for the past month. She had been in poor health many years. She was born and raised in Putnam County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Smith and made her home northwest of Greencastle. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ollie Easter, Danville; Mrs. Ernest O’Hair, Greencastle R 1; three sons: Claud, Earl and Glen all of Putnam County; two brothers, Reuben Smith, Fincastle and Ernest Smith, Fillmore; three sisters, Mrs. Melvin Storm, Mrs. Claud Williamson, both of Fillmore; Mrs. Ethel Walker, Clayton, several grandchildren and other relatives.  Her husband and one daughter preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 from the Rector Funeral home. Burial will be in the Fillmore cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. – kbz
