JEWELL, Robert Hays - Putnam

Funeral services for Robert Hays Jewell, 64, were held at the Jamestown Christian church Saturday afternoon with burial in the I.O.O.F. cemetery near Jamestown. Mr. Jewell, well known here and a former resident of this community, died at the Hines, Illinois, veteran's hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks. Death was attributed to a complication of ailments. he was a veteran of the Spanish-American war and had seen two years' service in the Philippine Island. Mr. Jewell was born November 24, 1876, at Stanton, Kentucky, and was married to Elizabeth Stull December 23, 1903. Survivors include the widow, an adopted daughter, a granddaughter, two brothers and four sisters.
