JEFFRIES, Nancy Ann Stewart - Putnam

Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Ann Jeffries, age 93, who died Saturday evening, were held at the Chastain funeral home Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Jeffries was born in Putnam Co., November 9, 1843, the daughter of Hiram and Nancy Parks Stewart. She married in 1861 to John H. Jeffries who died December 24, 1926. Two daughters survive; Mrs. W. W. Key and Mrs. Charles Gregory of near here, three sons; Leonard R., Roachdale, Lone O., Rockville, Ben H., Chicago, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchildren. Mrs. Nancy Ann Jeffries died Saturday January 23, 1937 at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 14 days. She was the widow of John H. Jeffries, who died December 24, 1926. They were married January 29, 1861. She was the daughter of Hiram and Nancy Stewart, who lived in Roachdale 35 years. One son, George passed away 6 years ago. She reared seven children; two daughters and five sons. The surviving children are: Lone, near Rockville, Ben H. of Chicago, Grover C, whereabouts unknown, Leonard of Roachdale, Mrs. Lou J. Key, and Mrs. Emma Gregory, both of Roachdale. Other survivors five grandchildren; Mamie A. Key, Indianapolis, Mrs. Marie O New, Danville, Mrs. Vesta L. Barnes, Roachdale, Mrs. Dorothy Wimmer of Rockville and Mrs. Rosalee Carmichael, St. Louis, Missouri. Five great grandchildren; Noble Woodson New, Danville, Janice June Lewis, Roachdale, Louis Bowman, Columbus, Ohio, Jerry Wimmer, of Rockville and Gregory Barnes, Roachdale, and one Great Great Grandchild; Betty Louise Bowman of Columbus, Ohio
