ROACHDALE – Margaret Jane Jeffries, 88, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday in Putnam County Hospital at Greencastle after an illness of several months. A native of Putnam County, she was a daughter of William Perry and Mahala Eggers Thompson and was born Oct. 14, 1876. She married George Jeffries in this county Oct. 28, 1894. Mrs. Jeffries was a member of the Roachdale Christian Church. Survivors include a niece, Dorothy Russell Spencer of Bainbridge, and two great-nieces and a great-nephew. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Perkins Funeral Home here. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon. Burial will be in Roachdale Cemetery.
