Sarah Ellen Jack, daughter of Uriah and Eliza Sage Hocker was born Feb 25, 1839 and departed this life June 13, 1920, aged 81 years 3 months 19 days. She was married August 28, 1855 to Adam Sellers Jack. To this union were born five children: Mary E who died in infancy; James T. and Oliver B. Jack; Nancy J Spencer, Mahala Alice Hazlett who survive. Mrs. Jack was born in Greene Township. Upon the death of her husband she moved with her son, James T. to Rockville, upon the death of James T. last November, she was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Hazlett near Milligan in the Linn Thicket locality sw of here about five miles. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Other survivors are two brother, Thomas C. Hocker of Marshall; Phillip A. Hocker of Lincoln, Nebraska; three sisters, Permelia Shumate of Lincoln, Nebraska, Marie E. Linebarger of Los Angeles, California, Kitty Ann Rusk of Augusta, Texas, 11 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren and friends and neighbors. -- kbz
