Floyd Township – The killing of WG Iddings of this township at Danville Sunday was a most lamentable occurrence and has plunged his family and friends into the deepest grief. Although he had suffered much from poor health he was anxious to obtain an education and having recently grown stronger he was becoming hopeful, and this fall entered the Danville Normal, his brother John going to Asbury University at the same time. On Sunday morning he foolishly got into a playful scuffle with his roommate for the possession of a revolver, when it was accidently discharged, the ball entering the abdomen and ranging upward, killing him instantly. The remains were brought home for interment. It was a sad spectacle and called forth the liveliest sympathy. --typed by kbz

WJ Iddings, of Coatsville, a student in the Danville Central Normal College and his roommate, Jared J. McCollum of Covington KY were playfully scuffling for the possession of a revolver Sunday morning when the weapon was discharged, the ball entering the abdomen of Iddings and ranging upwards, killing him instantly. - kbz
