Mrs. Rachel Jane Hyten, 73, died at her home at Raccoon Wednesday July 14. She was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky September 30, 1863, the daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Pittman. She married twice; first to Ned Adams, and following his death in 1895, to John Scott Hyten, who died in 1908. She moved to Indiana in 1898. Four sons survive; Fountain, Walter, Glenn and Leroy Adams all of Raccoon; one brother, Mose Pittman, Kentucky and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Parkersburg Christian church Friday afternoon. Ladoga – Mrs. Rachael Jane Hyten, age 73, is dead at her home in Raccoon. She was born in Pulaski County Kentucky and moved to Indiana in 1898, first settling in Parkersburg. She is survived by four sons and a brother. She was twice married. Ned Adams, the first husband, died in 1895 and John Scott Hyten died in 1908.
Note: Not sure if she passed in 1931 or 1937 - there is a Rachel Hyten in Russellville Cemetery - same birthdate 30 Sept 1863 but says "unknown" on death
