HYMER, Bertha Rachel Quigg - Putnam

Roachdale – Bertha Rachel Hymer, 79, died Tuesday morning in Putman County Hospital at Greencastle. She had been failing in health for the past three weeks. Mrs. Hymer was a member of the Gravley Run Quaker Church, the Good Humor Club and was a past president of the Senior Citizens Club at Roachdale. Born March 16, 1901, at Darlington, she was a daughter of Francis and Tacy Johnson Quigg. In 1926, she married Orion Oka Hymer, who preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Donald Hymer of Roachdale and Max Wesley Hymer of Frankfort; a daughter, Dorie Reid of Frankfort; a stepdaughter, Mariellen Jarvis of New Ross; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Servies & Morgan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery at Darlington. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-9 p.m. Thursday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Roachdale EMTs or to the Putnam County Hospital.   ---smc
