John Edward Hutcheson, former citizen of Putnam Co., died at his home nine miles north of Muncie, Monday evening. Survivors are the widow; Mrs. Amelia Mace Hutcheson and three daughters; Mrs. Hubert Morrison of near Cloverdale; Mrs. Kenneth Johnson of New Castle, and Miss Florence Hutcheson at home; two grandchildren. A Grandson, Allen Wayne Morrison,died five years ago. Funeral services are Thursday afternoon at Greencastle, with burial Boone Hutcheson cemetery, near Hamrick Station --- thanks so very much to Marilyn walker for sharing her Roachdale Times obituary collection

John Edward Hutcheson, 68, prominent Hamilton Township farmer died at his home 5 miles east of Gaston last night following an illness of two years. Surviving are the widow, Amelia; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Morrison of Cloverdale; Mrs. Madonna Johnson of Newcastle, Miss Florence Hutcheson at home and two grandchildren. Brief funeral services will be held at the residence at 8:30 o’clock Thursday morning after which the body will be taken to Greencastle where funeral services will be held in the Christian Church at 2 o’clock. The Rev. AE Cortner will officiate at both services. Burial will be in Boone Cemetery south of Greencastle. – kbz
