Rockville, Ind June 15 – Funeral services for Elwood Hunt, age 85, widely known Parke County attorney and veteran of the Civil War who died at his home here Saturday night were held this afternoon with Rev. FH Collier, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church in charge.  Mr. Hunt was born near this city April 11, 1844.  At the age of 18 he enlisted in Company A, Indiana Volunteers, serving with that outfit until he was wounded in the battle of Thompson Station, Tenn.  Later, he was graduated from Asbury College, now DePauw University.  He served as county recorder and later took up the study of law; and entered the practice of this profession with AF White, now dead.  Mr. Hunt was a prominent member of the Parke County Bar Association and had served as special judge in many cases. He continued in active practice of law until a few weeks ago.  He is survived by the widow, Emma Hargrave Hunt and the following children: Mrs. John T. Walker of Rockville; Mrs. F. Strouse of St. Louis; Mrs. DE Jones of Lima, O; Mrs. Henry Simler, of New York City and Harry and William Hunt of Los Angeles and a granddaughter, Mrs. Charles Pierson of Indianapolis.

Rockville, Ind June 13 – A mahogany “grandfather” clock owned by Mrs. Elwood Hunt here has been in continual service for 161 years.  It was built in Halifax, England in 1770 and has never failed to keep accurate time, she said. The clock is equipped with a calendar attachment which tells the day, month and  year.
