Ida Gilmore was born in Putnam county, Indiana, July 17, 1861. She was united in marriage to H.H. Hoyt, in December, 1881, Illinois. She with her family, settled seven miles northwest of Kanorado, Kansas, in Colorado, and in 1891 removed with her family to Centralia, Illinois. Mrs. Hoyt united with the Presbyterian church at the age of 18 or 19 years. Mrs. Hoyt has been a constant surfer for the year past but she bore her suffering with Christian fortitude to the last. Her spirit took its flight to God who gave it the 9th day of January, 1899, at 9 o'clock, a.m. The funeral services were conducted by the writer at the house. The body was laid to rest at Kanorado, followed by a large procession of friends and relatives. The family has the sympathy of all. Rev. J.R. Thompson, Lamborn, Kans. – thanks to Kim H
