John Howard died at his home
in the northwest part of the city Wednesday evening of pneumonia, aged 76
years. The funeral occurred Friday from the Little Walnut Baptist Church. Mr.
Howard once visited his son residing in Oregon and returned with many
curiosities, including a choice assortment of furs. It was his delight to
appear on the streets attired in fur garments to amuse the little children of
the city. He was kind hearted and of a general disposition - transcribed by kbz
